In the age of Terf attacks on trans women, we’re sadly reminded words of hate is like a punch to all lgbtqia people. Words inspired by a patriarchal society with little tolerance for anyone outside of their privileged zone.
BUS RIDE OF VIOLENCE
The image portrays the two victims, Melanie and Chris, a lesbian couple riding on a London bus. They were attacked by thugs after the two refused to kiss each other for their entertainment. The beating occurred on 30 May. Now Melanie Geymonat, 28-year-old flight attendant, spoke of what happened: “they wanted us to agree to hook up so they could look at each other. I tried to appease the situation by telling them to leave us alone, because Chris was not feeling well “.
The Group of men, aged between 20 and 30 years old, began to harass the women on the bus, that was taking them towards Camden, North London.
“I remember Chris in their midst, while they hit her,” says Melanie Geymonat, a native of Uruguay that now lives in Essex . She continued to say: ‘ I was trying to defend her, so they started to beat me too. I could feel the blood everywhere, I saw it on my clothes. “
The young women said, that there was four attackers. One of whom spoke Spanish, while the others had British accent. The couple was also robbed.
Melanie spoke more candidly though her FB page.
Donald Trump and rhetoric of hate, spills over into everyday people’s lives. Many are listening and responding to that hate. It’s a butterfly effect of hate, that many TERFS often don’t see that they are contributing to the same type of hate and violence that this unfortunate couple has had to encounter. It’s time to end all LGBT internal hate, we all remain a target!
