Elliot Page is thanking fans for the “greatest gift” — their emotional assistance after coming out as a non-binary, transgender person.
The “Umbrella Academy” star, 33, shared a selfie on Instagram on Sunday while thanking his fans for their continued “love and support” following his transgender announcement on Dec. 1.
“From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Your love and support has been the greatest gift,” Page wrote, before highlighting organizations that provide resources and advocate support for transgender people.
“Stay safe. Be there for each other,” wrote Page. “See you in 2021.”

When Elliot Page publicly came out as transgender in early December, he asked for patience, acknowledging his fear of “the invasiveness, the hate, the ‘jokes’ and of violence,” that trans people too frequently face. But after three weeks of silence, the Umbrella Academy star returned to social media with another important message: a thank you to his fans.
“From the bottom of my heart, thank you,” Elliot wrote in an Instagram post, accompanied by a solemn selfie of the actor wearing a black hoodie. “Your love and support has been the greatest gift. Stay safe. Be there for each other.”
He ended the post with a request for fans (who are able) to donate to two organizations: TranSanta, an initiative created by Pose star, and TMP’s Top 20 Inspiring Trans of 2020, Indya Moore that makes it easy for supporters to anonymously send holiday gifts to trans youth in need; and Trans Lifeline, a support and crisis hotline run by and for trans people.
Fans and friends alike commented on the actor’s latest Instagram post with even more messages of support. “Love you sm!,” wrote Indya, while Tommy Dorfman commented, “yessssss.”
Another commenter, Dali, added, “You’re the best Elliot!!! From one he/they to another!!!!”
